The Sewing for Mission Circle cordially invites you to share your time and talents. We meet in the Parish Hall the second Thursday of most months to sew, knit, or crochet. We are a group of dedicated women doing work funded by Abington Presbyterian Women. It has an annual request for the Presbytery directing choices of garments to be made and the location to be sent. Recently, we have sent to the Allegheny Valley Association of Churches and to International Health Ministries. Local recipients are bibs to Rydal Park medical center, sweaters, afghans, mittens and hats to Rosemont Children’s Village and the John Gloucester House. School bags are made for Church World Service.

Thanks to many donations of fabric, year and other supplies, the committee completes these assignments on a very low budget. We would welcome anyone to join us to expand our mission.

Mission Projects

Presbyterian Women are dedicated to the support of the mission of the Church Worldwide. At Abington Presbyterian Church, this mission is accomplished directly through our individual contributions, or indirectly through the organization of events or projects reaching out to others.  Some of our mission efforts include yearly pledges, Thank and Least Coin offerings, Christmas stocking contributions, hunger fund donations, Birthday offerings, World Day of Prayer, and Blanket Day. In addition, we support the Presbyterian Children's Village locally, and contribute layette, health, sewing, and school kits for those in need around the world.
