The Montreat Experience

These statements were written by APC Youth and adult leaders very late Friday night at the end of the 2003 Youth Conference

§        Summarizing in one sentence is hard to do.  I experienced so many different emotions – Happiness, sadness, joy, and a renewal of faith like never before.  Making new friends and growing closer to old ones has truly renewed my strength for my journey ahead

§        Makin’ friends – From Cleveland!

§        I got a lot closer to God with this experience

§        Montreat was inspirational and emotional.  I never will forget this week

§        Singing in the Choir and leading a group of 1000+ in worship was my best experience this week

§        This week at Montreat was a fantastic experience of friendship and hospitality that I will never forget

§        Breakfast and lunch at Lookout was awesome

§        Montreat was an amazing experience with faith, God, and new friends

§        Montreat is unlike anything describable; the beauty of the place and the people has moved me and changed me for the rest of my life

§        During my week at Montreat I enjoyed making new friends, meeting many people, and the food at the lodge was AMAZING!

§        Montreat was a great experience and you meet everlasting friends

§        Everyday I loved going to small group and seeing the people in it.  My small group was great!

§        It was great to be able to worship and discuss God in a place so near to him.

§        I was amazed by the turnout of people

§        I found a new appreciation for the body of Christ as it is changing in the thousands of tremendous young people at the conference

§        I got centered and closer to God with 1000 amazing teenagers.  This was a retreat and vacation wrapped in one

§        What an incredible experience to show and grow in God’s word and our own faith.  It is meaningful no matter what your age or place on your faith journey

§        Here at Montreat I really feel like I get in touch with God

§        It is a beautiful thing to see people make friends

§        It was an interesting experience

§        The week has helped me realize that I am , in fact, on a spiritual journey and that I have friends to help me along the road

§        Montreat was – I love this place, Ok it is spiritual and beautiful and fun – AMAZING
