This Sunday at Abington Presbyterian Church (February 12)

This Sunday (February 12)  at Abington Presbyterian Church

This Sunday I will be preaching a sermon entitled "How to Share Your Faith". Who is responsible for evangelism?  Ministers?  Professional Evangelists?  Elders?  Deacons?  Each of us is called to share our faith in a welcoming manner with others.  This sermon is not about engaging in manipulative and dogmatic arguments, but rather about friendship, grace, and hope.   The three points are subtitled: "Get Up", "Connect", and "Listen Before You Speak".   My hope is that you will find this message helpful for dealing with those moments when you want/need to speak with someone about faith related issues, but are uncomfortable.

Other events this Sunday
.

  • The Bible Study will continue its study of the book of Leviticus, led by Dr. Stephen Kim.
  • Following worship (around 11:15) there will be a Baptism Class for parents who are anticipating having a child baptized.

  • Put February 26th on your calendar as the Annual Congregational Meeting.  We will be hearing the financial reports, receiving the Session's annual budget, and voting on changes in the pastoral calls.    Following the Annual Meeting there will be an All Church Pot Luck Luncheon.   A-H should bring salad for 6-8 people, I - S should bring a casserole for 6-8 people,  T - Z should bring a desert for 6-8 people.  Drop your food at the kitchen before attending worship.
