Born in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, Scott was baptized in the First Presbyterian Church of Manasquan and was raised in a Presbyterian family.  His mother is an ordained Presbyterian minister.  He moved with his family to Syracuse, New York as a youth and graduated from Westhill High School.  He is a graduate of Muhlenberg College with a BA in History and Government.  While working as a sales representative in Chicago, he began to discern a sense of call to the ministry.  After careful consideration, Scott entered Princeton Theological Seminary in the fall of 1995 where his call to ministry became solid and sure.

During his years at Princeton, Scott served as a volunteer youth advisor with the Senior High Youth Group at the First Presbyterian Church of Tower Hill in Red Bank, New Jersey.  He also served as a seminarian at the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church and the Lamington Presbyterian Church in Bedminster, New Jersey.  Scott served his internship at the First Presbyterian Church in Vallejo, California.

Graduating from Princeton with a Master of Divinity degree, Scott was ordained on October 31, 1999 to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA) at Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church.  He served there as Interim Association Pastor for Youth and Young Adults.  From August, 2000 to April, 2003 he was Associate Pastor for Youth and Family Ministry at the Presbyterian Church of Upper Montclair, New Jersey.

As Scott enters his fourth year at APC, he has a strong, vibrant mission for the educational ministry at Abington. “My vision for our lives is that we seek God with all our enthusiasm and energy, to know God more, and to learn what God has called us to be in Jesus Christ.”

Scott is married to D’Anna Mae Nowack. D’Anna works as a Speech Pathologist for Moss Rehabilitation in Elkins Park and the Olney neighborhood of Philadelphia. They reside in Glenside.
