South Transept (2 of 5)
To the left of the large Nativity window contains the symbols of the Annunciation, the descending dove of the Holy Spirit, the lily, denoting purity; and the folded hands, denoting the resignation of the Virgin Mother and her response in the offering of the Magnificat. In the south transept, the large central window depicts the Nativity of the Christ and the Baptism of Jesus. The Star of Bethlehem shines brightly above the Holy Family. The window to the right of the Nativity window depicts Christ's childhood, the carpenter's chisel and a board, the candle for education, and the Torah, of scroll of the law, representing the boy Jesus in the Temple with the doctors.
